Grand Cru Vineyards of Le Montrachet, Puligny Montrachet, Bourgogne France

Hi All!  Thanks for dropping by my site. Hope you find it fun, educational and resourceful.  My friends and family affectionately call me The Syrah Queen.

Syrah is the one grape that I find most intriguing, sexy and mysterious.  You will understand my love affair with this grape more as you follow my blog.  With that said, don’t be fooled by the name I am a well-rounded wine aficionado and love all varieties and drink all types of wines; sparkling, rosés, whites and reds.  You will find that I write about any and all wines and grape varietals, but Syrah was my first love. There will always be a special place in my heart for a big, bold, spicy, glass of Syrah, especially a red northern Rhone.

Why am I writing about wine? Well, pure and simple, I am a passionate wine connoisseur, wine enthusiast and definitely a wine geek.  I have a WSET Advanced Certificate (Wine & Spirits Education Trust) and am currently enrolled in the diploma program with WSET.  Oh, I must mention that I am a true Francophile – I have a passion for all things French(language, history, food, culture, and of course wine). This led me to explore the world of French wine in great depth. I recently completely my studies in French wine and am now officially a “scholar”, I was recently awarded the certificate, French Wine Scholar, by the French Wine Society.  My love for wine does not stop with the French.  I am currently enrolled in the Italian Wine Specialist course as well.

In addition to wine, I have spent 20 years in the world of high finance, working as a Senior Portfolio Manager and Investment Strategist.  The transition from Wall Street to wine cellars was extremely rewarding and satisfying.   My other passions are traveling, dance and yoga.  I am a yoga teacher and love combining my two passions, wine and yoga.  I offer wine and yoga classes and workshops, Vinyoga.

So as you can surmise I am passionate about wine and of course what goes hand in hand with wine, is great food and exotic travels.   I have carved out a section of my blog devoted to travel, food and the restaurant scene in NYC and around the globe.  I love discovering new vineyards, restaurants and wine bars throughout the world.

I am available for consultations if you want to build a personal wine cellar, and can work with a range of budgets. I can also help you evaluate your existing wine cellar.  If you have a restaurant and want help in building your wine list or if you need someone to coordinate a wine tasting, please consider hiring the Syrah Queen.  I have great wine tasting themes and ideas that would accompany any elegant dinner party or corporate event.  So grab a glass of wine, sit back, relax and read my blog.  I’m sure you will find it fun, resourceful and educational.  Cheers!
