Ca’ d’Or – Noble Italian Bubbly

Ca' d'Or

I am big time into my bubbles, and cannot be more excited to share with you the sparkling wines of Ca’d’Or . They represent Italy’s finest bubbles.  These luxurious fine wines are of the highest quality made from two prestigious regions, the Moraine Hills of Franciacorta and the slopes of the Lessini Mountains in Northern Italy.

History

Ca’ d’Or is a project that came to life from two friends looking to create a premium luxury Italian brand. The wines represents a noble historic winery of Franciacorta and a family of professionals that are active with their creativity and marketing.

Ca' d'Or

The distinctive sign of Ca’ d’Or combines history, quality and creativity. As evidence of these three qualities, a precious mask is decorated on the bottles, representing the Venetian origins of the brand.

Artistic Bottle Design

The wines are visually beautiful.  Made in elegant and unique bottles that represent the style of the ancient noble families.  Much care and thought is put into designing these bottles.  The beauty and shape of the bottles are a modern interpretation of ancient Venetian ampoules.  Great attention is given to the functionality of the bottle shape. The broad base is designed to allow for more contact between the liquid and the lees.  This ensures the sediment to release and allows for an expressive bouquet.  The long neck improves the outflow of the wine with great elegance.

Ca' d'Or

The history of the wines of Ca’ d’Or go back to 1501.  This magic and elegance is etched onto the base of the neck of the bottle.  The logo is a beautifully designed mask which is a reminder of the Venetian origins of the brand.  A unique bottle representing mystery, elegance and sensuality.

Wines
Ca’ d’Or Millesimato Blanc de Blancs ($15)

This beautiful sparkling wine is made from their Grand Cru vineyards planted with Durella grapes. Millesimato means the grapes are from a single vintage. It is aged 12 months in small steel tanks, made in the Charmat Method.  The color is a soft pale golden yellow and exhibits a beautiful luminosity.  The wine is soft, fresh, and fruity with an aromatic nose.  The palate is fresh with citrus notes. This is a remarkable wine that is well balanced with persistent bubbles.  It is simply beautiful, delicate, elegant and affordable. Perfect wine for entertaining and celebrating.

Ca’ d’Or Saten Franciacorta DOCG Brut ($34)

The Franciacorta DOCG Saten Brut is made from 100% Chardonnay from the vineyards of the hills of Ome near Iseo.  The wine is fermented and aged for 7 months in stainless steel tanks and then aged for 36 months in bottle. The wine is elegant and has a lovely bouquet of brioche and almonds on the nose. The bubbles are elegant and harmonious.  It is a wine with a personality that is seductive and is wonderful as an aperitivo or continues elegantly when paired with a meal.  This is a brilliant food wine and so vibrant in its acidity that it can be paired with variety of foods and cuisine.

Ca’ d’Or Noble Rosé Franciacorta DOCG ($35)

This lively and expressive Franciacorta is made from 80% Pinot Nero and 20% Chardonnay from the Grand Cru vineyards on the gentle hills of Passirano. 1. Thanks for introducing me to Ca’d’Or Rupal. I’m big into bubbles too (been on a Trento DOC thing as of late). Really like the bottle design based on Venetian ampoules, elegant and eye-catching. You don’t often see Durrella so I’ll see if I can order a bottle to try, the benefit of living in the EU 😉
