Somms and Sliders – Napa Wines paired with NYC Burgers

Somms and Sliders

Somms And Sliders – October 20th to November 5th 2017

Napa Valley Vintners has partnered with some of the best restaurants in NYC to bring you the third annual Somms and Sliders program.  Starting today October 20th to November 5th 2017, some of  New York City’s most popular sommeliers are pairing some of the cities best burgers with the finest of Napa Valley wines.

Somms and Sliders

Murray’s Cheese Bar – 2013 Artesa Reserve Pinot Noir + Murray’s Cavemaster Reserve Annelies Burger

New Yorkers take their burgers real seriously and Napa makes such versatile wines, making the combination rich, decadent and perfectly indulgent.  Phillip Pratt, Wine Director at 21 Club will be pairing Honig Cabernet Sauvignon with the deliciously classic 21 Burger.  Laura Maniec, Owner and Wine Director of Corkbuzz will be pairing a grass fed cheeseburger with Long Meadow Ranch Merlot. Tribeca Grill’s Wine Director David Gordon is pairing the Daily Burger with a rich concentrated Charbono from Calder.  For those of you that have never had a Napa Charbono, it is worth a trip to Tribeca just for the wine alone.  Grown in very small quantities, Charbono is a very rare grape with only about 55 acres left on the planet.  It is extremely dark in color, and aromatically there are aromas of wild berries and oak.  On the palate it gentle, yet big with low alchohol and high acidity.  Simply delicious.  Be sure to stop into a participating restaurant.  See the full list below or link on https://sommsandsliders.com/
